Welcome to the first edition of “Make Me Ragequit.” I am
your host, The Ragemaster, bringing you the latest trends in rage fashion. So
without further ado, let’s dive in…
There’s nothing like a good start of things other than the world of Azeroth with its lush landscapes and dungeons. Home to 10.3 million players, majority of which are teenagers with raging hormones and fat unemployed nerds who live in their mom’s basement, World of Warcraft is the “leading” MMORPG for aplenty of years. Now I’ve been playing WOW for almost 4 years, with periods of inactivity in between, and just recently came back due to some of my friends joining in.
I play as an orc warrior, which is apparently already a rare
race to use (goddamn blood elves) and my warrior used to have both engineering
and blacksmithing as professions. But due to the inactivity of my guildies, I
was forced to take on the role of the guild Jewelcrafter. With my alt as my
mining whore (jewelcrafting needs ores to prospect gems and this is where
mining comes in), I took it upon myself to supply my jewelcrafting needs and levelled
it up to Cataclysm content in just about a day of mining and scavenging gems
from my alts’ banks (and from stealing gems in the guild bank, hush).
Reaching the jewelcrafting skill level 475/525 earns you the
right to do the daily quest to attain jewelcrafting tokens. Now, jewelcrafting
tokens are used to buy recipes for higher level gems, and it is a must to get
many as fast as possible. With my jewelcrafting skill level at 506/525, I felt
like I could get all the recipes we needed in just no time at all, or so I thought
(Oh past self, why are you so naïve).
Feeling really giddy that I made it thus far in as little
time as possible, I went straight down to the quest giver and spanked that blue
exclamation point till it turned into a grey question mark. “Collect 10
Elemental Goo from … who gives a shit.”
Oh, okay, easy as hell, and I know a great place to gather, too.
I wonder what she's gonna use the goo on. |
So I ported straight to Mount Hyjal, facerolled 10
elementals with bladestorm, looted those shit up and hearthstone’d back to
town.
Yey, a token! Wait… Just
1?! Isn’t this quest supposed to pop about 4 or 5 more quests so I can grind
myself some tokens? Aww hell, don’t tell me this is the only quest that I can
do for the entire day to gain me some and it only drops 1? Oh well, let’s check
how many tokens are needed for one recipe.
Well fuck... |
7 Pages of 5 token recipes and that’s only for the endgame gems,
I still needed to craft the lower tier gems which cost 3 tokens each! I would let you do the math, but it would already
take a whole year to learn all the endgame gems as you can only get 1 token PER
DAY. GODDAMNIT WOW. And I thought playing Asian MMORPGS was grinding.
